Our Golfers

Kartik Rawat
Kartik Rawat is 9 years old. He lives in a small neighborhood called Martin Purwa of the city of Lucknow in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. His father, also an avid golfer, runs the xxx on the 9th hole at the Lucknow Golf Course. He recognized his son's golf talent when Kartik was just 2 years old when he saw him swinging a slightly large golf club for fun. His father decided that he would try to hone Kartik's skills and talents but the equipment was hard to find and unaffordable. However, he didn't let that stop him. His father took things in his own hands and began cutting and welding old, discarded clubs, right-sizing them for Kartik so he could practice and after that, Kartik was unstoppable. Kartik often watches others play from a distance and practices wherever he is allowed, sometimes without formal permission to be on the course, because that's the only way for him to continue doing what he loves most. Despite these challenges, his dedication has never wavered.
Greens of Tomorrow supports Kartik by helping provide proper equipment, coaching, and access to safe practice spaces so his talent can grow.

Vansh Kumar
Vansh Kumar is 11 with a growing passion for the game. He started playing when he was 8 but was never allowed to play at the Lucknow Golf Course because his parents couldn’t afford the green fees – they are vegetable vendors. Vansh’s talent was spotted by one of the caddies at the golf course when he tagged along with his father to sell raw vegetables on a cart near the golf course. His curiosity for the game began when he would lurk around the course with his father and watch people swing their blubs, putt, and play. When one of the caddies approached his father to strike up a conversation, he asked him about the game of golf and asked if Vansh could try his hand at it. The caddy obliged and watching Vansh’s inherent talent blew him away. Formal coaching and a proper golf set remain out of reach for him, but Vansh shows up every day with determination and discipline beyond his years, soaking in all the lessons he can by just watching others and using old clubs whenever and wherever he finds them. Through Greens of Tomorrow, Vansh is being given the opportunity to train consistently, access proper facilities, and compete in organized play.
Greens of Tomorrow supports Vansh by providing access to quality golf equipment, access to safe practice spaces, and coaching and training to improve his fitness.

Dev Rawat
Dev was born into a low-income household with both his parents selling vegetables for a living. He found his way on the golf course, because his uncle Sunil Kumar Rawat runs the golf hut at the 9th hole of the Lucknow Golf Club. When he saw his cousin, Kartik Rawat, swinging a golf club and practicing, he too wanted to pick up the sport. His impediments were similar to those of Kartik’s – lack of quality equipment, no training, and no guidance. These, however, are minor deterrents for Dev. He goes to the golf course with his cousin every day to watch others play and practice on the range after school. He isn’t officially allowed to practice on the range but through the kindness of a few good samaritans and members on the course, he is allowed to practice on the range every once in a while.
Greens of Tomorrow is supporting Dev with the right coaching and fitness training required to take his game to the next level.
